摘要
This paper presents a new method for estimation of losses in inverter-fed induction machines. The estimated losses consists of core losses, Ohmic losses and electrical insulation losses. Output voltage of the inverter supplying induction machine contains a number of harmonics which increases the losses and stress on the insulations within the machine. These losses are compared in inverter-fed and line-start induction machines. In order to validate the results of the proposed method it is compared with the results of finite elements method and experimental results and reasonable agreement are achieved.
