摘要:
The thermotropic liquid-crystalline (LC) and light-emitting properties of main-chain ionene polymers based on trans-1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene were analyzed. It was found that these ionene polymers exhibited two endotherms in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) thermograms. It was also found that ionene polymers containing triflimide as counterions as well as oxethylene units in their backbones exhibited LC properties even at room temperature. The combination of a thermotropic LC properties, ease of film formation, and photoluminescence makes these polymers suitable for optoelectronics applications.
