Tableware at Compiegne, new acquisitions: porcelain, glassware and menus

A reflection of courtly residences over several decades from the First to the Second Empire, the Compiegne collection of Sevres porcelain has maintained a coherent history. The quality of the pieces in the collection, to which have been added recent acquisitions, shows that they were intended for the official apartments, with elements that belonged to various sets of tableware: "floral and gold", "florets and coloured butterflies", "picturesque views", and "forest". Eating utensils are also represented by the everyday pieces required in an imperial and royal household, along with some pieces from a tea service, series of glassware, and documents including menus.
