The design and implementation of power station geographic information systems (GIS) is discussed. GIS's are computer based systems designed to support the capture, management, manipulation, analysis, and modeling of spatial referenced data. GIS supports the architecture of the integration of client/server and browser/server. It is designed to process both spatial and attribute data. In the client/server architecture, Visual basic (6.0) is used as a desktop development tool and SQL server as backend tool while Interdev/frontpage is used to make active web pages in the browser/server architecture.
