摘要
This study explores the adoption of software metrics within firms in Saudi Arabia. After conducting a literature review that highlights (i.e. ISO 9001, CMMI, and Agile Methodology), this study uses qualitative research as research design. Data will be collected through using semi structured interviews as data collection tool. Participants are managers within targeted companies and these are specialised in the IT departments within their firms. A sample size would be of Six participants from six companies. Selecting such number of would be sufficient to fulfil data saturation. In regard to the expected outcome, theoretically, this study would expect to identify types of software processes embraced within companies in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, this research would underline the ways in which such software processes are applied in these companies. Practically, the outcome of this research can be embraced by decision makers to implement proper software processes with their companies in a way that support competitive advantage of their companies. Limitations of this study include the Hawthorne Effect. Moreover, due to reliability issue, which results from small sample size and researcher's bias in qualitative studies, the findings cannot be generalized to the whole population.
