Design, Analysis and Characterization of Tunable Dual Band Planar Antenna for WLAN Applications

摘要
This paper reports study of simple dual band and tunable dual band antenna for WLAN application (i.e. 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz). The CAD based design and simulation has been performed using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) and Advance Design System (ADS). Varactor diode SMV2020-079LF has been used as tuning element. Validation of the design has been done through realizing hardware prototype of design on FR4 substrate. Measurement of fabricated prototype has been performed using Keysight Field-Fox Vector network analyzer N9918A. Measured results depicts that both the desired frequency bands of WLAN have sufficient gain and bandwidth for designed antenna. Simulated and measured results are in good agreement for the proposed work.
