A new equation of state based on hole theory: mixtures

摘要
In this paper, our previous work on the equation of state (EOS) based on hole theory was applied to polymer blend, that is the Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) behavior of polymer blend. For the PPO/PS blend, the EOS developed by us shows good results in describing the PVT surface with or without binary parameters, But the binary parameters for the segmental energy is more important to explain the mixture properties from the pure component properties than that for segmental volume. When compared with Simha-Somcynsky (SS) model, this EOS shows better results than SS model for the entire range of weight fraction, (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
