摘要
Supramolecular co-assemblies are an emerging class of materials that have evolved over the last 30 years. These materials demonstrate compelling structures and properties, so they became increasingly promising for different applications. Their dynamic character, the reversibility of the interactions, and the possibility of using a wide variety of building blocks attract the interest of the scientists. In this minireview, we highlight the different types of co-assemblies between low molecular weight organic molecules, mentioning the progress in materials preparation and control, as well as some of the characterization techniques that are used for such materials. Our goal is to unify the classification of peptide and non-peptide-based co-assemblies and to give some guidelines for their control in terms of stability and properties.
