摘要
Leading universities and colleges worldwide are experiencing the effects of a globalized world. As international education continues to make an impact, secondary education is developing more robust curriculums. Their attempts of developing a global connection is an effort to remain in stride with the growth rate of international students and their impact on education. Due to increased student mobility outside of their national borders, over the last several years there has been an effort to collaborate and synchronize degrees and calendars in addition to creating synergy amongst colleges and universities in research and teaching on a global spectrum (2015, Dirks [1] and 2012, Penisi [2].) On a global basis, with the increasing numbers of foreign students traveling around the world to various schools and universities it is imperative to offer courses with a wide range of international subjects, supporting an expansive spectrum of study abroad initiatives and working with foreign partners to expand research and educational opportunities. Although there are increased course options and initiatives colleges and universities are just scratching the surface when it comes to supporting students in an intensely interdependent world (2015, Dirks [1].) With the influx of international students, naturally companies are also impacted by globalization as well. The future business leaders are becoming more agile and are seeking global experiences and career opportunities overseas. Initially, students moved abroad to study in developed economies for instance, the United States and United Kingdom. Lately, there has been a shift for college graduates to take their education and experience to the East as opposed to the West. A key factor in this transition is the low unemployment rate in the East and also students (particularly Western students) are increasingly identifying the significance of engaging themselves in unfamiliar cultures and languages (2012, Pennesi [2].) Since the world as we know it, is getting smaller and globalization plays an integral role in every facet of today's society, it would be in the best interest of colleges, universities and corporations to embrace and cultivate the trend of an interdependent world.
