ON π-CLOSED SETS AND π-NORMAL PROPERTY IN TOPOLOGICAL SPACES

摘要：
In this paper, we present some results on pi-normal and nearly paracompact spaces. Some relationships between pi-normality and near paracompactness are given. We give some conditions on two spaces X and Y so that the product space X x Y will be pi-normal. We show that if the product space X x I is pi-normal, then the subspace X x {0} is also pi-normal. We also look into pi-closed and pi-open sets in subspaces as well as in finite product spaces. Some various properties of pi-closed and pi-open sets are proved and some examples/counterexamples are given.
