摘要
Gundelia toumefortti L. belongs to the family of Asteraceae. This genus consists of the major class of phenolic compounds such as caffeeic acid (CA) and anti-oxidant chlorogenic acid (CGA). The purpose of this study is compared the CA and CGA of the plant's leaves and stems, extraction of essential oil and fatty acid. Extraction of the plant's leaves and stems was obtained under reflux condition. The qualitative and quantitative analysis CA and CA has been characterised by HPLC. The extraction of essential oils was obtained by Clevenger and were analysed by GC-MS. The results reveal that, 1,8-cineol (4.1%), camphor (6.21%), borneol (5.76%), borneol acetate (11.85%), trance caryophyllene (5.53%) and phytol (7.52%) were the main species of essential oil. Fatty acid of leaves essense extracted by Soxhlet and analysed by GC. The results showed that linoleic and linolenic acid was the main constituent of essential fatty acids. Due to the important biological activities of CA and its derivatives, as well as a wide range of compounds in the essence of this plant, more searches would be valuable.
