摘要
The purpose of this study is to examine the civic engagements and participation levels of university students in terms of free time/leisure activities and voluntary activities and also their understanding of youth work and youth policies. A group of students (n: 250) in Ankara University were asked about their daily activities and also their involvements to any social/voluntary/community. Results revealed that the students of Educational Sciences Faculty have limited engagement in terms of leisure and civic activities. They also have little knowledge about the civic institutions, activities and implementations on youth work and youth participation in Turkey. Thus, the curriculums, programmes and activities should be reviewed and strengthened to make the future teachers more capable.
