On the Status and Functions of Traditional Culture in Modern Art Design

Under the background of globalization and in the era when science and technology develop rapidly, network becomes more convenient as well as the world peace and fast food culture prevail, the art design of a nation can build its own design buildings and keep a foothold in the world only when it is based on traditional culture. The reason for this is that culture is the base of design, while traditional culture is the source, cornerstone and fertile soil of art design with national characteristics. The traditional culture of China is of long standing. However, being affected by western culture, a brand new design system with Chinese characteristics can be created only when we profoundly understand the irreplaceability of our national culture.
