The transport through a liquid membrane of sulfadimidine and its alkali salts mediated by different macrocyclic carriers

摘要
A study regarding the modelling of a water//chloroform//water bulk. liquid membrane system used for mediated transport of Sulfadimidine 1 and its sodium 2 and potassium 3 salts was performed; the transport was mediated by crown ethers (15C5, 18C6 and DCH18C6) and Valinomycin, and it was comparatively studied in two different glass devices, namely the classical U-shaped cell and the tube-in-tube device which is a two concentric tubes cell. The experimental results emphasized: i.) the higher efficiency of the two concentric tubes device; ii.) a more significant effect on the transport of compounds 1, 2, or 3 by using Valinomycin than crown ethers (suggesting a possible association in therapeutics of macrocyclic antibiotics of ionophore type). A greater transport efficiency was evidenced when the pH value of the receiving phase was 1.
