摘要
Soil cement has been widely used for protecting banks of major watercourses in the Southwestern part of the United Stales. Soil-cement bank protection is normally placed on relatively steep (1h:1v to 2h:1v) side slopes, and consists of approximately 200 mm (8 inch) thick horizontal lifts, 2.44 meters (8 feet) to 3.05 meters (10 feet) in width. This paper discusses the hydraulic and scour design considerations, material requirements, and cost for soil-cement bank protection. The performance of soil-cement bank protection during the large flows of 1983 and 1993 in Arizona is presented.
