摘要
Rate constants have been measured for the reaction of hydroxide ions with Crystal Violet, Ethyl Violet, Pyrrolidine Violet and the 2,2'-isopropyl and oxygen bridged analogues of Crystal Violet. The rates of hydrolysis of Ethyl and Pyrrolidine Violets are similar to each other but are slower than Crystal Violet in accord with the electron releasing nature of the terminal groups. Bridging groups also stabilise the dye system. Thermodynamic parameters Delta H double dagger and Delta S double dagger have been obtained for each dye. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
