摘要
As cities move closer to the concept of smart, the idea of a smart campus came into being. One of the most important characteristics of a smart campus is the way in which the campus interacts with the environment. Clean energy contributes to a clean environment and the research in this paper looks at ways to supply a campus with clean energy from renewable energy sources. This is referred to as smart energy generation due to its positive impact on the environment. One of the challenges with the usage of renewable sources which is addressed in this paper is the difficulty in supplying an entire load due to its stochastic nature. It was found out through using a combination of renewable energy sources and energy storage, a whole campus can be supplied with clean energy without additional energy being drawn from the grid.
