Efficient high-average-power operation of Q-switched cryogenic Yb:YAG laser oscillator

摘要
We have demonstrated a cryogenically cooled Q-switched Yb:YAG laser oscillator in a diode pump. A high average power of 74 W was obtained with a pulse energy of several mJ. The optical-optical efficiency was as high as 60%. The spatial beam profile was excellent at M-2 < 1.4 with no additional compensation optics.
