摘要：

Easy as pie: Expedient access to arylsubstituted benzofulvenes is described. a-Hydroxyallenes 1 that bear two aryl groups at C1 (red circle) are directly transformed into these products at room temperature by using silver triflate as a catalyst or Brønsted acids. The transformation involves dealkoxylation and subsequent 4p electrocyclization (Nazarov reaction). © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH &. Co. KGaA.
