This review has very briefly described the hereditary and acquired thrombophilias. Proportional discussion has been rendered, depending upon how common the defect(s) is. Those that are most common are discussed in more detail. However, in most instances, references are to in-depth review articles whereby the more interested reader can obtain extensive discussions and detailed references. ©2006 Westminster Publications, Inc.
