Quality of Engineering Education: Ideas and Reality

Any technical university or college has responsibility to prepare graduates to deal with uncertainties and challenges that are likely to arise in professional activities. Hence, quality of education is a major issue for the academic community. The development of education and its effectiveness are major concerns for the general community and industry as well, as educated people are the greatest resources for a country with poor natural resources. Key elements for quality engineering education are an up-to-date curriculum, motivated students and highly qualified academic staff. The situation at the Kaunas University of Technology is discussed.
