Response of late-sown wheat (Triticum aestivum) to sowing method and seed rate

摘要
A field experiment was conducted during the winter season of 1989-90 to 1991-92 to study the response of wheat ( Triticum aestivum L. amend. Fiori & Paol.) to sowing method and seed rate. Cross-row (25 cm x 25 cm) sowing method gave significantly higher grain and straw yields, yield attributes, net profit and benefit : cost ratio than other sowing methods. Cross-sowing had smothering effect on weed density and dry weight. Increasing seed rate from 100 to 200 kg/ha increased the grain and straw yields, however net income and benefit : cost ratio were the highest with 150 kg seed/ha seed rate.
