摘要
UK Construction sector is working to reduce build project delivery lead times by 50% and the cost of building projects by 33% by 2025. In order to achieve this scale of transformation the sector recognises the need to explore and implement new ways of planning, managing and delivering construction projects. Collaborative planning in addition to using strategies such as those used in manufacturing industries are amongst the key enablers in increasing efficiency in construction. Transformation on such a scale also requires different supply chain and procurement frameworks. This paper provides insight into a supply chain simulation tool which has been designed to enable the construction industry to analyse, assess and compare the key performance indicators of different supply chain configurations. The supply chain simulation tool provides construction collaboration entities with the capability to explore the alternative scenarios, understand the associated implications of risk and uncertainty and then agree a solution for a project earlier than traditional approaches.
