摘要
This paper presents the results of a research of value chain analyses in the production of wooden upholstered chairs based on the example of a selected manufacturer in Serbia. The aim of this research was to analyze the segment of value chain in relation to the process of finalizing sawn timber into high added value products. In this regard, the research was carried out on three chair models. The results of this research have shown that from 29 to 34 pieces of the selected models of chairs are produced from 1m3 of sawn timber, and in that case the coefficient of valorization of sawn timber is increased from 4.1 to 5.7 times, according to the criterion of the sales price of chairs on parity EXW. If retail prices are taken into account, then the coefficient of valorization of the sawn material ranges from 6.5 to 8.9 times. This shows that the use of sawn timber for final products should be the tendency of all manufacturers in Serbia in order to achieve the highest value of production, exports and profits.
