摘要
This paper investigates the energy and carbon embodied in Sino-US trade using input-output analysis through combining data on energy and trade. There are three main findings: (1) the energy and carbon embodied in China's export to the US is in great amounts, which has been growing fast since 1997 and has quadrupled. (2) The footprint analysis of embodied carbon indicates that the sectors which embodies most carbon through export to the US in 2007 are instrumentation and culture, office machinery manufacturing, general and special manufacturing and chemical manufacturing. (3) Calculation based on SDA Model implies that efficiency increase in use of energy and resources could reduce embodied carbon emission, however, production technology, export scale and exported products structure are positively related to embodied carbon amount. This research is conductive for strengthening bargaining power in the international climate negotiation and for policymakers to establish related measures of optimizing industry structure.
