摘要
Different possibilities for the generation of coherent soft-x-ray radiation with femtosecond lasers are discussed. Critical analysis of experimental results on OFI soft-x-ray lasers with three-body recombination pumping is given. Direct photo-excitation pumping of XUV and soft-x-ray lasers via multiphoton adiabatic passage (MAP) through the n-photon resonance is suggested. Prospects for the development of high-order parametric, amplifiers (HOPAs) as an alternative to the conventional inversion-based soft-x-ray lasers are analyzed.
