摘要
What's already known about this topic? Obesity has several adverse effects on the fetal and neonatal outcomes Obesity leads to underdetection of fetal sonographic markers of aneuploidies and of fetal anomalies, as well as underperformance of maternal serum screening test for common aneuploidies Obesity can be associated with malnutrition and lower levels of essential vitamins What does this study add? The reported increased risk of offspring with Down syndrome in obese women (corrected for maternal age) could be due to more frequent non-disjunctional events or under-detection of affected fetuses
