Resonance linewidths and crystallite alignment in oriented samples of polycrystalline barium hexaferrite

The millimetre-wave ferromagnetic resonance linewidths have been measured for polycrystalline samples of barium ferrite with different degrees of crystal alignment. A theory is given which relates the linewidth and lineshape to the crystallite distribution and has allowed calculation of the distribution and comparison with experimentally determined forms.
