摘要
In addition to the numerous applications of characteristic modes (CM) in radiation problems, scattering control for the antenna systems using CM is discussed in this work. It is implemented based on the CM analysis for fully dielectric coated conducting bodies and multilayered planar structures, respectively. The characteristic mode analysis provides clear information on how each mode contributes to the total scattering. Following such information, the systematical scattering control procedure can be thus realized by manipulating the modes that dominate the total scattering. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed scattering control procedure.
