摘要
A facile sol-gel spin coating process to synthesise mesoporous nanocrystalline Al2O3 supported TiO2 pho-tocatalytic membranes performance has been reported. Titania sol containing lauryl lactyl lactate surfac-tant as a pore forming agent was employed to improve the porous structure of TiO2 materials. The sol was spin coated on Al2O3 support to synthesise TiO2/Al2O3 membranes. The composite membranes were dried and calcined. The above procedure was repeated for three times. The fabricated TiO2 composite mem-brane has been utilised for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye as a model pollutant. The highest percentage degradation of about 99.25% was observed at pH 12. Such membranes can be employed very efficiently in waste water treatment systems, separation of gases and liquid mixtures, treating microorganisms and also for self-antifouling action.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
