摘要
Mountain ecosystems are well known for their significant fragility and rich biological diversity. In Cuba, these areas receive special attention, with the purpose of satisfying the most pressing needs of the mountain people, economically, socially and environmentally. Agricultural use in these places has the potential to make a significant contribution to the solution of national problems, if one takes into account the development opportunities offered by nature tourism in its variant of agrotourism. The economic valuation of the ecosystem services that facilitate this activity offers useful results for the decision-making process, in order to avoid the devastation of natural resources and contribute to sustainability. The objective of the research is to in-tegrate the potential of mountain ecosystems for agricultural use and nature tourism, in the agrotourism variant. Actions are proposed to guarantee the conservation of the services that favor this activity, which contributes to the implementation of the Agroindustrial Policy Guidelines and the Tourism Policy of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution for the period 2021-2026.
