摘要
The objective of this article is a comparative analysis of the implantation of the first chairs of Political Economy in the Universities of Spain and England in the 19th century, based on normative, ideological, religious and merely academic aspects. A wide bibliography, normative sources and archival documents have been used in this study, such as the various Calendars published by University College London in the 19th century. The conclusions of this article are based on the differences and similarities with respect to teachers, and educational models, which were a turning point for the development of economics. The training of university students was essential to improve the economy of their countries and although there were some political and ideological pitfalls, the studies of Political Economy ended up being established in the Universities of both countries.
