摘要
The conversion of CO2 into useful fuels or chemicals can tremendously reduce the energy crisis and concurrently diminish environmental issues such as pollution, the greenhouse effect, and global warming, thus the reduction of CO2 is considered to be a green method. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have evolved as one of the pioneer tools to answer the nature crisis and save the environment. MOF compounds are emerging as excellent photo catalysts and ideal for the reduction of CO2 due to their distinctive physical, chemical and structural charac-teristics. In this review, we summarized the chemical and structural specifications of MOF as a photocatalyst. Also, the strategies for the construction of efficient MOF for photocatalytic reduction of CO2 and good light harvesting techniques are summarized. The challenges, outlook development, and prediction related to MOFs for photocatalytic CO2 reduction are discussed.
