摘要
Objective: Determine the effect of the physical exercise program, of the healthy Usco institutional project with a sano-logico approach, on overweight university students. Materials and methods: quasi-experimental study with before and after assess-ment of a single group with a mixed approach, 40 students with BMI (body mass index) between the ranges of 25 to 30 kg/m2 were selected from the reviews of clinical records sanologicas. An instrument called Clinical-Sanologica History designed, adjusted and standardized by researchers Pedro Reyes Gaspar and Dolly Arias Torres was used. The data were worked through a semi-structured interview by creating codes and categories with the Atlas Ti 6 Software program. For the comparison of BMI, the Wilcoxon test was used and the effect size was used using Hedges' G. SPSS program version 24. Results: significant changes were identified in the concept of health, current health status and in the understanding of physical exercise as a tool for health care and aging. Conclusions: The physical exercise strategy from a health approach is feasible and effective due to the revealing changes in the thinking and health behavior of students.
