Critical Musicality: Reframing Paulo Freire's theories for the field of Music Education

摘要
In this research, I investigated the teaching and student behavior of the project "Informal Musical Learning at School", which I conducted at the Pedagogical Center of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CP/UFMG). As a theoretical framework, I used the works developed by Lucy Green and Paulo Freire. Based on data analysis, I created the theoretical model "Parameters for the Analysis of Teacher and Student Behavior in Informal Musical Learning at School". Such a model suggests the need to overcome the "banking education" that permeates the formation of Brazilian schools, to reach a state of critical awareness, as suggested by Freire.
