摘要
The present work describes a green method based on the utilization of egg white for the preparation of manganese oxide (MnO) nanoparticles. The egg white liquid acts as a reducing and stabilizing agent. Morphological, physical, and optical properties were evaluated by UV-visible spectroscopy, SEM, EDX, and XRD. MnO Nano-particles have a particle size of 29 nm. Morphological studies show that synthesized nanoparticles exhibit a spherical shape. EDX spectrum shows the presence of distinct peaks of Mn and O atoms with the elemental composition of 50.43 % and 33.83 % respectively. The crystalline construction of nanoparticles was investigated using XRD analysis. To test the potential of these nanoparticles as photocatalysts for the breakdown of drugs and colors in industrial effluent, photocatalysis of the dyes Methylene Blue, Bromophenol Blue, and the antibiotic Moxifloxacin HCl was carried out under sunshine. Maximum degradation efficiency achieved was 92.75 %, 84.60 %, and 73.92 % respectively.
