Influence of Microalloying Elements on the Structures and Properties of Thermal Barrier Coatings on Gas Turbine Blades

摘要
The mechanisms of alloying with hafnium of protective thermal barrier coatings on nickel superalloys are studied. The mechanism of hafnium transfer into the coatings is found to proceed via disproportionation reactions during chrome aluminizing in a powder mixture with aluminum, chrome, and hafnium chlorides as activators. A positive influence of microalloying coatings with hafnium on the fatigue life is observed by heat resistance tests during cyclic changing oxidation temperature in air.
