摘要
This paper assesses whether the 2020 COVID-19 recession in the US was pro-poor and identifies the primary factors influencing the dynamics. The results show that during the COVID-19 recession of 2020, poverty reduction was predominantly driven by an increase in equivalent income in the US, accompanied by improved inequality. Public social benefits experienced a substantial rise, counteracting the decline in other income sources and contributing to improving the inequality.
