摘要：

The article is devoted to the publication of the most complete version of Nizhny Novgorod history for more than eight centuries. It is presented in 2 volumes. Despite the anniversary nature of the publication, it is written with the presentation of the results of the latest research of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region. The compilation of a large narrative is based on a few new principles of local historiography. These principles make it possible to abandon regionocentrism in the context of greater Russia and to register Nizhny Novgorod history as an integral and interdependent part of the country's history.
