USE OF VIRTUAL REALITY AS AN IMMERSIVE LEARNING STRATEGY IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

摘要
The general objective was to determine the influence of virtual reality on the immersive learning of industrial engineering students from a private university in Trujillo, Peru. The specific objectives were: to identify the influence of virtual reality on the observational learning of industrial engineering students and to specify the influence of virtual reality on the experiential learning of industrial engineering students. The study was developed using the hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied type and quasi-experimental design. The population was 285 students of the 7th cycle of industrial engineering from a private university in Trujillo, Peru. The sample consisted of 44 students enrolled in the Industrial Technology subject, divided into two groups, 22 in the control group and 22 in the experimental group. The questionnaire was made up of 20 questions referring to immersive learning and its dimensions, each question had five response options, which were validated and their reliability verified. In addition, a virtual reality-based content program was developed to carry out the experiment (pre-test and post-test). It is concluded that the use of virtual reality significantly influences the immersive learning of university students in Trujillo-Peru, given that p=0.040<0.05.
