摘要
In this work, the final concentration (Ce) of methylene blue (MB) dye adsorption by jengkol peel-based activated carbon (JPAC) in aqueous solution was simulated and validated using a dynamic model. JPAC was synthesized via physical process of microwave activation that consists the flow of N-2 and CO2 gasification. The preparation conditions of JPAC at 400 Watt in 4 min of radiation power and activation time, respectively, achieved favorable properties for MB dye removal. JPAC has a BET surface area of 474.03 m(2)/g and pore volume of 0.3888 cm(3)/g. As the initial concentrations of MB dye increased from 25 to 300 mg/l, the adsorption capacity of MB on JPAC increased from 24.3 to 170.9 mg/g. It was found that calculated R-2 values showed an agreement that the model fitted accurately experimental data with a correlation R-2 more than 0.90 and the mass transfer coefficient decreases with increase in MB dye initial concentration.
