摘要
The study was undertaken to examine the urbanization trends and the socio-economic status of the street vegetable vendors in Sambalpur ity. The results revealed that the urban population of Sambalpur City witnessed an increasing trendc over the last five decades (1971-2011). At the same time, the land use pattern of the city showed increasing trends for residential, industrial, and transportation areas because of urbanization. The study further revealed that most street vendors were illiterate, and their daily income was less than (sic)500. The research findings will help the policymakers to set plans, strategies, and policies for improving the street vending business and the street vendors' socio-economic status.
