摘要
Faced with the current financial and economic moment that Brazilian society has been experiencing, the difficulties encountered by people when talking about the management of their financial resources are noted, considering that many of them do not have knowledge about Financial Education. Considering the daily impact caused by the absence of financial planning, this research aimed to analyze the knowledge of students from a private higher education institution in Vale do Jamari regarding financial education. Given the assumption, a descriptive research with a quantitative approach was carried out, using an electronic form -Google Forms, addressing questions about socioeconomic and demographic profile and financial education, using the Likert Scale. It is noteworthy that the study was approved by the Ethics Committee in Research with Human Beings of the University of Ribeirao Preto (UNAERP) under CAAE no. 64579822.9.0000.5498. The predominant target audience in the study was female, single, aged between 21 and 30 years, students of the 2nd period of the area of Applied Social Sciences (Administration and Accounting Sciences), coming from public education, living with two or three people in the same household, and are workers with a source of income around three minimum wages. The data collection instrument used allowed knowing different aspects of the financial behavior of the study participants, especially in view of the significant relationships between such behaviors and the sociodemographic and economic profile, and knowledge about financial education. Given this context, it is suggested that studies be carried out to investigate knowledge about financial education among academics, from all areas of Knowledge, as well as the actions developed by educational institutions to meet this demand.
