摘要
The industry of marine engineering equipment (MEE) is an essential part of the global maritime supply chain and an important catalyst for boosting the development of the blue economy. To engineer its growth, China has issued intensive laws, regulations and policies at both the national and regional levels in a top-down fashion, providing important "institutional incentives"for the multiple stakeholders embedded in the MEE industrial chain to jointly promote the prosperity and development of the industry. However, problems and inadequacies persist within the current institutional framework, which could impede the industry's further development and even negatively affect the maritime supply chain in the postpandemic era. Through a policy analysis approach, this article comprehensively examines China's law and policy system for the MEE industry, critically reviews the problems and inadequacies embedded in the existing institutional framework, and explores the influence of the current law and policy system.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V.
