This review describes the rationale in support of admitting rights for interventional radiolo-gists and presents options for the management of interventional radiology (IR) inpatients. The manuscript also discusses wider aspects of IR involvement in inpatient treatment, such as income and funding for IR services, and the implications for IR as a clinical specialty.(c) 2023 The Authors.
