摘要
The Republic of Turkiye is an organization resulting from thousands of years of historical accumulation and a thousand years of nationalization experience in the geography of Turkiye where it was founded. In this respect, Turkiye has gained its identity with the historical accu-mulation of the states named after the ruling dynasties of the Huns, Gokturks, Oghuzs, Seljuks and Ottomans, and the cultural and civilizational accumulation of the Seljuks and Ottomans of Turkiye. The Republic of Turkiye was founded on these values of historical accumulation, culture and civilization. The 1808 Sened-i Ittifak, the First Constitutional Assembly and the Constitution of 1876, the Second Constitutional Assembly and the Constitution of 1909, and finally the opening of the Grand National Assembly on 23 April 1920 and the Constitution of 1921 were the building blocks of this historical accumulation. The first article of the 1921 Constitution states: "The sovereignty belongs to the nation unconditionally". Therefore, af-ter the Turkish War of Independence, the abolition of the Ottoman Sultanate on 1 November 1922 and the inclusion of (Art.1) "The sovereignty belongs to the nation unconditionally. The method of administration is based on the principle of the people's personal and active ma-nagement of their destiny. The form of government of the State of Turkiye is a republic" into the 1921 Constitution on 29 October 1923 and the election of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha, the Commander-in-Chief of the National Struggle, as the "president-republic" of the Republic of Turkiye were not found odd by anyone. In this respect, this study will examine the elections of Mustafa Ismet Inonu, who was elected as the second president on 11 November 1938 after the "Eternal Chief" who died on 10 November 1938 and was elected as the president of the republic three more times after the first election. Parliamentary Minutes, newspapers of the period and research will be used as the main sources in the study.
