ulcer was later positive. To investigate whether other cases of mpox urethritis were missed in our clinic, we retrospectively performed MPXV PCR on all stored urethral swabs collected between May and August 2022 from patients with urethritis. In total, 11 swabs from 11 patients were analyzed. This revealed one additional positive result for a man presenting with a puru-lent urethral discharge who also tested positive for N. gon-orrhoeae. He developed a febrile illness with inguinal lymphadenopathy and a typical penile mpox lesion 1 d after the swab was taken. [4] De Baetselier I, Van Dijck C, Kenyon C, et al.
