"The name of God is mercy": synodality, pastoral and the perspective of waiting for God according to the prophecy of destruction in Jr, 18-25

The purpose of this article is to reflect on pastoral action based on the notion of waiting for God, who presents himself as availability for growth in fraternity based on mercy. We seek to base community life using the notion of synodality presented at the Synod of Bishops in 2023. This will be done through the analysis of the pericope of Jeremias 5,18-25 and other documents published by the Holy See and bibliographical verification. The thesis has as its perspective the hypothesis of the conception of waiting that appears in the pericope, which starts from God himself, and, due to this condition, becomes a mystic for the synodal life of the Church. Seeking to establish a dialogue with the biblical text and the interview of Pope Francis to the journalist Andrea Tornielli, the notions of fraternity and synodality will be approached, starting from the prophecy of Jeremiah that announces the destruction of the people that turn away from God, a possibility of encounter between two notions, at first biblically assimilable: 1) punishment as an act of mercy to awaken 2) conversion. God is the "point" of unity of all religion and the foundation of human brotherhood.
