摘要
Background:The Clareon CNA0T0 (Alcon Laboratories Inc., Fort Worth, TX, USA) is a hydrophobic one-piece intraocular lens (IOL) eligible for the implantation into the capsular bag during cataract surgery. Due to its design, it is intended to be stable along the optical axis and thus should prevent a fluctuation of the postoperative refractive correction in the further course. Material and methods:The aim of this explorative, prospective study was to determine the position of the IOL along the optical axis by measurement of the anterior chamber depth (ACD) using optical biometry (IOL Master 700, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany) at different time points and to determine a change of the visual correction after surgery in the long term. In this study, 36 eyes of 20 patients underwent phacoemulsification cataract surgery with a Clareon CNA0T0 implantation in the capsular bag at our department. Preoperative, 5 weeks postoperative and 16 weeks postoperative biometric data were compared to each other. Postoperative correction of refractive error was determined at each follow-up. Results:No significant differences in biometric data were found besides a significant increase in ACD of 1.35 & PLUSMN; 0.04 mm (p < 0.001) and a significant decrease in lens thickness of 3.85 & PLUSMN; 0.05 mm (p < 0.001) 39 & PLUSMN; 11 days after surgery. At 116 & PLUSMN; 12 days after surgery there was no significant difference in ACD (p = 0.56) compared to the first postoperative measurement. There was no significant change of the spherical (p = 0.958) or cylindrical (p = 0.841) correction in the postoperative course. Conclusion:The Clareon CNA0T0 is a modern one-piece IOL that maintains an unchanged position along the optical axis 5 weeks after cataract surgery and demonstrates a robust postoperative refractive correction over time without the necessity of a refractive enhancement after 4 months.
