摘要
Marmolejo Reservoir sedimentation increases the flooding risk in Andujar village, located at the reservoir tail. The Spanish Hydraulic Administration has designed a set of protection measures whose effectiveness is conditioned by the reservoir sedimentation level. The law of sediment contribution to the reservoir has been calculated with the bathymetric information and suspended sediments gauging. It has been necessary to use supercomputing and machine learning techniques, as well as a new suspended sediment transport model, to calibrate a two-dimensional numerical model of the reservoir. This model makes possible to reproduce the historical evolution of the reservoir sedimentation. Finally, a web tool, that allows simulating the reservoir sedimentation with different gate management criteria, has been developed to optimize the exploitation of the reservoir while maintaining the sedimentation at safe levels in Andujar.
